Measurement is determined by your dog’s chest girth, measured around the widest part of the rib cage. Coverage may fit slightly shorter or longer depending on your dog’s proportions.     Great cooling vest for hot weather

    I used this vest for my Toy Australian Shepherd during our trip to Miami in May, and it made a huge difference. The temperatures were high, and she usually gets warm quickly, but with the Swamp Cooler she stayed comfortable during walks and outdoor activities. It’s easy to put on, fits well, and actually cools — not just “advertised cooling.” The material dries fast and doesn’t get heavy. If your dog struggles with heat or you live somewhere hot, this vest is absolutely worth it.

    Works Great

    Used your Swamp Cooler for my dog on a hunting trip. The thing worked great. She loved it and I loved it.

    Previously, having only one fur coat, the heat was just too much for her. With the Swamp Cooler she was able to hunt all day without any problems. It worked great. It only took an hour, in the heat, for it to dry out but even dry it still protected her from the hot sun beating on her. I would dunk it in cold water about every hour for premium protection.

    The only issue I have is with the clasps. They are too small and do not appear to be of durable quality. They look and feel like they could break easily. She has a service dog vest with beautiful thick/large clasps that work great. I felt like the clasp could easily break and ruin my hunting trip. With a thicker clasp, I would not have this worry.

    Why not put a better/larger clasp that is easier to use?

    Cool, calm and collected

    Soleil, our golden, immediately stopped panting after we placed her cooling vest on. She got relaxed and just rested. It was magic. She loves her vest and it’s a wonderful resource. Thanks, Ruffwear. Her veterinarian had recommended a cooling vest to assist with her thick coat.

    Great on hot days

    I bought this best for my dark colored German shepherd guide dog and it’s been great! It gets hot where we live and wearing the vest kept him from overheating on a long walk. Easy to use and well made!

    Helps my dog stay cool on hot humid days in Minnesota.

    My dog is an all black shepherd/lab/husky mix. While she loves the frigid winters of Minnesota, she slows way down in the summers when it is hot and humid. I noticed that she didn’t want to walk more than 20 minutes before she started showing signs of discomfort.

    I tried the swamp cooler vest today when we walked at 81 degrees and she stayed energetic and comfortable for the entire walk. Her recovery time was also much shorter once we got back inside.

    I should have gotten this way sooner! I highly recommend this for anybody with a dog who doesn’t tolerate heat very well.
