Hitch Hiker™ Leash

We’ve used this so much since getting it and it’s such a great purchase. Perfect for hands free walking in addition to hiking. And it’s super easy to reel out and back in. Also great if you want to let your dog off leash and not have to hold onto the leash!

I purchased this leash to use while camping. I have a smaller dog, so like that it’s light, and that it can wrap around trees to anchor it.

Bought this lead for walks where the dog needs to be on-lead but the walker appreciates having both hands available for tricky bits of rocky trails etc. Have used it last week in the Lake District and it was really great - enough play in it for the dog to be able to find her own route, but strong enough that we had no worries about it taking her weight if she fell in a river (water-loving dog). Very practical bit of kit as it was nice not to have to worry about having to hold the lead on a long walk.

After trying all manner of Indiana Jones style leash holsters...I've found that the Hitch Hiker is perfect for the situations where you need to walk your pup on-leash for a while from a road/parking area and then will be letting her run free. I realized I was always distracted for the first 10 minutes of my hike fussing with how to wrap the leash up so that it was out of my way, but handy in case of an unfriendly pup or porcupine. This solves that!

It is very lightweight, and I think of it as a hiking utility belt that I attach her treat bag and other small accessories to.
