Ruffwear's apparel features an active, tailored fit that hugs close to your dog's body, designed to move with their natural range of motion. Measurement is determined by your dog’s chest girth, measured around the widest part of the rib cage. Coverage may fit slightly shorter or longer depending on your dog’s proportions. If between sizes, size up for a more relaxed fit, or down for a more snug fit.

Vert™ Dog Vest

Dogs can hold their stride with the Vert™ Vest no matter what elements are thrown their way. Designed to embrace the wintry-mix that would otherwise mean spending the day inside, the shell fabric is windproof and waterproof.

The Vert™ Vest features extended waterproof coverage over the hips and thighs and recycled, lofted insulation that packs exceptional warmth. Leg loops keep the jacket in place when the winds kick up, and the leash portal allows the Vert™ to be worn over a harness.

WATERPROOF SHELL

Shell fabric is windproof, waterproof, and breathable.

HIGH-LOFT WARMTH

High-loft recycled polyester insulation provides warmth.

LEASH PORTAL

Leash portal on back so it can be worn over most harnesses.

Side-release buckles allow for easy on/off
Oversized storm collar folds up for additional weather protection
Leg loops provide secure fit option in windy conditions
Reflective accents for visibility in low-light conditions and light loop for attaching The Beacon™

FIT GUIDE

While each style of Ruffwear apparel is designed for its intended use, this guide generalizes our fits in three ways. The Vert is a Relaxed Fit with side-release buckles for easy on/off and extended vest coverage over hips and thighs.

Fits like a glove!
Purchased the Vert vest this past winter for my German Shepherd and I have only good things to say about it! It feels very lightweight, yet keeps body heat inside very well. I was worried about the quality not being able to withstand branches and such getting snagged on it since it is quite thin, but no issues so far.
My boy is approximately 100lbs (give or take) and the XL fits perfect. He wears the L/XL in Ruffwear harnesses as well, so if you’re on the fence about sizing I’d say you’re safe to go with whatever harness size they wear!

Great item for playing outside in 10-40 degrees weather. Both of my Rhodesian Ridgebacks have one! Awesome for layering if the wind picks up mid canicross!

Great Winter Jacket
Originally purchased this jacket but it was too big for our dog. Requested an exchange. The exchange went flawlessly. The jacket is well made and warm. Our large breed dog loves it. This would be our second purchase from Ruffwear, having purchased a light rain jacket earlier. Gear from Ruffwear definitely gets two paws up.

Insulated raincoat/ sleeping bag?
I’m thrilled with this. Haven’t taken it in the rain yet but Marcus loves the fit and this will double as his sleeping bag for when he needs his space from me on the trail. (Sometimes he gets all cuddled out and likes to chill in his own space.)
